Who is TofuRevolution?

My name is Leonard Schellauf. I’m an Austrian artist, known on the internet as TofuRevolution. My work is influenced by popculture, fantasy and a lot of artists found online. Lately I’ve started to explore spiritual and religious themes in my art.
Since the beginning of 2020 I ‘ve been working as a freelance fantasy artist. I never went to art school and consider myself self-taught - as much as one can consider themselves that with the internet at one’s fingertips. The way I work is the result of hundreds of hours of experimenting and watching YouTube- tutorials.

My paintings are all done digital. To work on the computer not only speeds up my process, it also allows me to try new things which I personally wouldn’t be able to achieve traditionally. While my work typically ends up very polished and clean, my workflow is messy and anything but linear. Working in a digitally allows me to sculpt my lines and work from dark to light value and back again. While I also enjoy sketching with pencil on paper, the digital medium gives me the most joy and freedom to express myself.
